Battery Storage Rebates – Plan Now

Battery storage solutions have been hot on people’s minds, although have not been cost effective for the average home owner. All this is about to change with new rebates coming into play as of 1st July 2019.

Eligible homeowners will be able to save up to $4,838. This will save households with an average 11kWh battery around $650 a year on their electricity bills, in addition to savings they are already making with solar panels. This will also pave the way for future microgrids, allowing households in a local area to share their stored power to lower electricity prices even further.

The new rebates will kick off on 1 July 2019 when the Solar Homes Program will introduce rebates for up to half the value of the installation of a battery storage unit for 10,000 households that already have solar panels installed.

The 2018/2019 Victorian Solar Rebate was open to 24,000 homes and came to a crashing holt in April 2019 with no warning and many missing out. As the solar battery rebate is only open to 10K homes we are now making appointments to ensure you are ready to submit when applications once open. We will discuss and quote on a battery storage solution suited to your individual needs even if we didn’t install your solar panels.

Victorians with a household income of up to $180,000 who live in their own home valued at up to $3 million and who have already installed solar PV panels are eligible for these rebates.

Homeowners will only be eligible for one rebate across the Solar Homes program.
